JS(AC)97a / AF25a Operation Banner - Airborne Forces in Northern Ireland cover 1
JS(AC)97a RAF cover issued in association with the Airborne Forces Museum and dual numbered AF25. The cover artwork by Tony Theobald depicts paratroopers in action on the streets of Belfast during the 1970s, it also depicts an AAC Lynx overflying a border patrol and 'Lollipop' duty on Springfield Road. Cover bears the Airborne Forces Pegasus logo.

Cover bears Queen Elizabeth II Northern Ireland 19p green definitive stamp and is cancelled BFPO 2847 postmark which commemorates 26th Anniversary of the Deployment of Airbourne Forces to Northern Ireland 12 October 1995 and is appied in red ink for the occasion. Cover has been in an Army Air Corps Lynx Mk7 ZX649 of 5 Regiment Army Air Corps from RAF Aldergrove on an operational sorties to Bessbrook, Forkhill, Crossmaglen and Newtownhamilton, South Armagh.
