Lest We Forget 1941 Africa Star Star Millennium Official FDC
Cover commemorating World War II African Campaign in 1941 and depicts scenes from the campaign & depicts campaign medal Africa Star.
The Africa Star was awarded for entry into an operational area in north Africa between 10th June 1940 and 12th May 1943 but service in Abyssinia, Somaliland, Eritrea and Malta also qualified for the award. Clasps were awarded for service with the First or Eighth Army between 23rd October 1942 and 23rd May 1943. A clasp inscribed to personnel of the Royal Navy Vessels which worked inshore between these dates. RAF Personnel also qualified for this clasp
Cover bears full set of millenium stamps and is cancelled on first day of issue 07.12.99 which was the 58th Anniversary of Tobruck.
Cover was flown on exercise Bright Star in Hercules of 30 Squadron from RAF Lynehma to Iraklion and Cairo West.
