RAF commemorative cover from 1998 marking the Golden Jubilee of the Leonard Cheshire Homes which do such vital work with disabled people. The cover artwork by Tony Theobald shows Pilot Officer Leonard Cheshire (later to become Group Captain Lord Cheshire VC OM DSO DFC) flying his Hawker Hart over Oxford when he was a member of the Oxford University Air Squadron.

The cover bears 26p NHS stamp cancelled on first day of issue with Westminister London SW1 postmark for the 50th Anniversary of the Leonard Cheshire Foundation 23 June 1998. The cover has been flown in Lancaster PA 474 of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and flight details can be found on the reverse.
