JS(CC)82d / JS(BB)2d 60th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain cover with artwork by Tony Theobald depicting depicting Supermarine Spitfires of No 92 Squadron above the skies of RAF Biggin Hill during the Battle of Britain engaging Bf 109s. Along side the Distinguished Flying Medal & Bar is shown, which was instituted in 1918 and awarded to NCOs and men of the RAF for courage or devotion to duty while flying on active operations against the enemy. During the Second World War it was extended to the equivalent ranks of the Army and Fleet Air Arm personnel engaged in similar operations. A bar was awarded for a second award.
Cover bears 65p Guernsey Supermarine Spitfire (in No 92 Squadron markings) stamp which is cancelled on first day of issue by Guernsey Post Office for the 60th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain.

Wright DFC* AFC was a Battle of Britain pilot with No 92 Squadron from October 1939 to July 1941 and who was awarded his DFC on 22 October 1940 and his bar to the DFC on 15 July 1941 and the AFC on 1 September 1944.
