JS(CC)80 RAF cover, dual numbered JS(BBF)3 as a forerunner to our Battle of Britain mini-series. The artwork by Tony Theobald depicting three Supermarine Spitfires of No 54 Squadron over the beaches of Dunkirk. The aircraft of New Zealand ace Al Deere 'KL-B' is shown flying as wing man to the squadron Commanding Officer James Leathart. Along side the Dunkirk Veterans Medal is shown full size, although an unofficial medal introduced in 1960 over 60,000 have been issued by the town of Dunkerque and the Dunkirk Veterans Association to those who took part in the evacuation from Dunkirk in June 1940.
The cover bears 1st class definitive stamp cancelled with Dover 7.3.2000 postmark. The cover has been carried aboard HMS Somerset which acted as escort to 57 Little Ships to mark the 60th Anniversary of Operation Dynamo.

Baxter was the co-founder and Honary Admiral of the Dunkirk Little Ships Association and also flew Spitfires during WWII with Nos 65,93 and 602 Squadrons being mentioned in despatches twice.
